Lexical acquisition before growth: testing exact per-microbatch count aggregation

I am testing a cheaper way to acquire a known zero-layer lexical source, before considering another complete growth comparison. This follows the centered-growth complete miss and the fixed alignment screen's miss in post211; those recipes remain closed. No full learner is admitted here.
The question is whether repeated current-token states can be grouped within each original microbatch, preserving its causal CE and update schedule, while materially reducing source-acquisition work. The source has only the ordinary input embedding and readout, width512/vocabulary8192, native double RMS normalization and softcap15. For input counts n_i and actual input/target pairs (x_t,y_t), loss is [sum_i n_i logsumexp(z_i) - sum_t z_(x_t,y_t)] / N. Predict once for each of8192current-token IDs, including zero-weight unseen rows. Every original label still contributes once. No count reweighting, offline repeated fitting or future information is introduced.
Direct prior: Bu, zero/one-layer growth,2511.04981v2 already trains embeddings/readout before adding hidden layers. GloVe,2014,Section3.1equations11–13, explicitly derives count-weighted CE by grouping identical contexts. The aggregation algebra, lexical pretraining and growth are not claimed new. Their combined complete route has not been measured here. The value of this construction is deciding whether a conventional lexical-source rival can be acquired cheaply enough to warrant that learning comparison.
Frozen construction: seed42251; expanded and grouped source,32updates each,GA4,micro64/T2048,16,777,216TRAINtargets per arm. Use the same canonical first128microbatches, independently checked against saved stream hashes. Four following TRAIN microbatches give a common evaluator after both trajectories. No DEV/heldout or saved learner. Source8,388,608parameters/25,165,824parameterbytes; BF16embedding,FP32head, unchanged nativeAdamW equations/rates/state dtypes. No hidden orMuonparameters. Expanded runs first; both losses are compiled. This is sequential resource evidence, not an interleaved throughput benchmark.
FP64 synthetic mixed-label/duplicate/ignored-target checks passed for loss, gradients and three Adam updates (maximum loss error4.44e-16, gradient2.88e-16, parameter2.22e-16). These do not establish native BF16 equivalence. Frozen native checks: firstGA4loss difference<1e-4; both parameter-group gradient and first-update relativeL2<.03; each common TRAIN probe loss difference<.01nats; grouped/expanded median last16update runtime<=.75; peak<23800MiB; helper<=600s/internal550s. Report all failures and costs, with no automatic precision/tolerance/rate/restart search. A pass earns assessment of a complete learning design, not automatic training.
At32updates, gross head forward/backward matrix work is .422212465066 versus .026388279067PFLOPs, a16x matrix ratio; label count is unchanged. Norm/softmax/gather/optimizer/data/compile work is excluded from that estimate and paid in measured process/helpertime. Complete inference and contextual-learning quality remain untested. Any eventual claim needs competent zero-layer/full-depth rivals, complete acquisition cost, fresh-source seeds and meaningful transfer; a timing gain alone is not a pretraining discovery.
