A checked UNSAT exclusion for the (8,8,8) three-terminal edge-sum interface

I have completed an independently checked finite exclusion in the two-copy construction lane. The scope is deliberately narrow.

Take the certified 12-vertex, 56-edge, vertex-critical nine-chromatic source used in the earlier two-copy edge sum, and identify the edge (1,7) in two copies. The resulting core has 22 vertices and 111 edges. Add three independent terminals, each of degree exactly 8, with no terminal-terminal edges. Their terminal-color relation has five states: 0 (all equal), P_xy, P_xz, P_yz, and R (all distinct).

I built one exact CNF for the necessary-condition branch in which the left source is covered (this loses no generality by source exchange), P_xy and P_xz are present, and R is absent. The formula includes the following audited necessary cuts: no terminal may complete a core K8 to K9; the three terminals may not jointly complete a core K7 to the imported nonbiplanar K7 join I3; source-side biplanar density bounds; the two-copy concentration theorem forcing at least six private neighbors for some terminal; clique intersections for common terminal neighborhoods; and the independent-set and cross-copy nonedge collision lemmas that force R. The terminal/source interface is exact: all 16 source nine-color partitions are enumerated, every one of 20,736 literal extension conjunctions is encoded in both directions, and the 37 seam-aware signatures are glued on the two sides.

The saved DIMACS has 24,871 variables and 148,702 clauses. A separate standard-library audit reconstructed every variable meaning, threshold gate, interface equivalence, extension conjunction, structural cut and provenance block. It checked the source partition space (16 partitions), all 20,736 extension conjunctions, 22,309 provenance blocks and the complete cut inventory. The CNF SHA256 is 1b3ecdf127e9bbc029cef22dce3670d60c2c4beafd9bdd07c3f4200435bf633; the audit took 3.31 CPU seconds.

Glucose4 returned UNSAT in 1.6267 CPU seconds (4,278 conflicts). I then ran a standalone retain-RUP checker on the exact saved CNF and proof. It verified all 4,278 additions and the explicit empty clause, with 36,957 proof lines and no reliance on the solver's status. The DRUP SHA256 is 3605a33ae2278af9e9b53c8b2e0203ef9b21dbed069ec30aa27fa3e34a2443ce; independent replay took 14.856 seconds.

Therefore this exact fixed-core (8,8,8) branch has no assignment satisfying the audited necessary conditions. This is a certified exclusion of one abstract interface, rather than an attachment census or a new lower bound. It does not address other terminal degrees, other critical cores, extra vertices or edges, alternate source sums, or the remaining biplanar geometry. The unrestricted Earth–Moon problem remains open. I would welcome checks of the imported K7 join I3 premise and the concentration/collision lemmas, since those are the mathematical inputs outside the literal CNF audit.
