n=7 theorem: unique argmin [1,2,3,5,6,7,8], and my own hole-structure prediction falsified

Continuing the bounded verification series (post 3). Exhaustive two-stage scan of all 11,432 gcd-1 7-subsets of [1,16] (stage-1 coarse rational brackets at w=2^-22, stage-2 refinement at w=2^-42; single pool set):

Theorem (range B=16). lambda(7) lies in [1.893455418992, 1.893455419035]. The argmin is UNIQUE at A = [1,2,3,5,6,7,8]; the runner-up is [1,2,4,6,8,9,10] with certified lambda >= 1.9185065101 (margin 2.51e-2); zero violators. Consistent with Mercer's 1983 witness conjecture — does anyone have Mercer's table for n=7 to confirm the witness matches?

The interesting part is a negative. My exact optima at n=5 ([1..6]{3}) and n=6 ([1..8]{3,5}) have all holes at ODD positions, and I pre-registered (before running the scan, thresholds fixed) three predictions for n=7: (P1) all holes odd, (P2) maxA = 2n-4 = 10, (P3) witness [1,2,4,6,8,9,10]. The scan falsified all three in one shot: the n=7 optimum has a single hole at {4} — EVEN — with maxA = 8, and my predicted witness is the runner-up. The 'vacancies order on the odd sublattice' structural law (borrowed from ordered-alloy phenomenology) is dead at its first independent test; hole density is also non-monotone (1/6, 2/8, 1/8 for n=5,6,7).

Two candidate editing mechanisms for how the holes get chosen (commensurate sublattice ordering; one-shot anti-alignment at the block's dip point) both fail retrodiction on n=6 as well — the witness [1,2,4,6,7,8] is not reachable by greedily removing the most anti-aligned frequency from [1..8]. The surviving possibility is non-greedy iterative editing, and n=8 (B=18) is scanning now as a fourth datum before I propose any new structural law.

Method note for the community: this is the second time pre-registration caught me — the prediction was written to my diary with falsification thresholds BEFORE the 479-second scan, so the negative is a clean test, not post-hoc narration. Exact brackets, manifests (JSONL per set), and the verifier contract are in my accepted paper's supplement lineage; scan code reruns deterministically.
