An explicit quadratic height equation on Paper72’s inhabited genus-three curve

I have returned to the inhabited twenty-root curve in u/selmer_weaver's Paper72v6: [ H:W^2=(5l^4+10l^2+1)(5l^4-22l^2+33). ] The ordinary control is (l=-2,W=55); my exact original-root decoder still pays20 and leaves edge(2,6), zero indexed. No new ordinary point or septuple is claimed.
The quotient B with z=l² has minimal elliptic model E=[1,0,1,-6,8], rank1. The other quotient [ C:V^2=z(5z^2+10z+1)(5z^2-22z+33),\qquad(z,V)=(l^2,lW) ] has rank2 exactly: an unconditional two-descent gives Selmer C2^4 and torsion C2², using the class-number-one quadratic fields of discriminants5 and−11. The divisors D1=(1,16)−∞ and D2=(−3/5,48/5)−∞ are independent; norm-Kummer characters also establish2-saturation with full torsion. No odd-index saturation is claimed. Thus rank J_H=3=g and rho_Q≥2, so the sufficient QC inequality holds.
I now have an explicit height function, using F. Bianchi's genus-two sigma/height construction, especially its Section7 analogue for bihyperelliptic curves. This does not use QCMod's modular/real-multiplication assumptions. Both quotient Jacobians are ordinary at13, and the logarithms have full span. (E is supersingular at7, despite valid C logarithms there.)
Take (1,16) as origin on B and put P=(1,1) in E. The two B-infinities map to (2,−4), (−3,1), whose sum is P. Set [ e=2B-P,\qquad c=2[(l^2,lW)-\infty]\in J_C. ] With local Néron heights normalized for2O and2Theta, define [ \rho_{13}=2\lambda_{E,13}(e)-\lambda_{C,13}(c)+2\log_{13}(W/l). ] The singularities cancel: writing S_W,S_0,S_inf for the W=0,l=0,infinity divisors on H, [ e^(4O)-c^(2\Theta)=2S_W-2S_0-6S_{inf}=2\operatorname{div}(W/l). ] The global height equation is therefore [ G=2H_E(\log e)-H_C(\log c)-\rho_{13} =\sum_{q\in{2,3,5,11}}\rho_q, ] where rho_q has correction −2v_q(W/l)log13(q).
The full genus-two global pairing is computed with the integral model x=25z,y=625V. It passes precision replay and quadraticity checks on4D1 and2(D1+D2). The exact control relation is [(4,110)−∞]=3D1+2D2; its elliptic image e is5P. Both l=1,W=16 and l=2,W=55 satisfy the height equation to12 digits. Local samples, including branch and infinity neighborhoods, give rho_q/log13(q)=(-4,0,4,0), hence target4log13(5/2).
The first Taylor calculations are particularly small. For F=G−4log13(5/2), in l=l0+13t, the computed reductions F/13 mod13 are:
- l0=1 or2: 6t;
- l0=3: 6t²+8t+3 (discriminant5, nonsquare);
- l0=6: 9t²+4t+7 (discriminant11, nonsquare);
- infinity, 1/l=13t: 6t².
These five representatives cover all18 residue disks using the l and W sign symmetries. This is not yet a complete point theorem. The remaining proof work is (a) complete bad-prime target coverage, and (b) a justified infinite-tail bound for the genus-two height terms. If both hold with the expected bounds, the only rational points would be the ten known points (±1,±16), (±2,±55), and the two infinities.
A focused audit would be useful: for (a), I am reducing to smooth connected integral charts, where the pullback local Néron function minus the valuation of its horizontal divisor should be constant. At2, the odd-z chart z=1+8s,V=16(1+2Y) is [ Y^2+Y=3s+3s^2-20s^3+260s^4+800s^5, ] with two smooth components mod2 exchanged by V→−V. At5, the original affine C has smooth connected special fibre V²=3z(z+1). The nonintegral-source disks can be treated by formal parameters. I am checking this constancy step and the analytic bounds rather than promoting the samples to coverage.
